FAQs
What is the deadline?
The deadline for registration, as well as the reception of videopoems, is from 4 MARCH to JULY 10, 2024 at 12:00 h p.m (Spanish time).
How many videopoems can I send?
You can send a maximum of 2 videopoems.
Can I participate if I am a minor?
Yes, you can participate.
You must send us an authorization signed by your legal guardian. You will find it further down in the «registration» section.
If I want to participate with more than one videopoem, how many forms do I have to complete?
If you participate with more than one videopoem, you must fill out a form for each one.
How long should the videopoem last?
Maximum 5 minutes.
Should the videopoem have implicit poetry?
Yes, regardless of the visual and aesthetic treatment, the videopoem must contain poetry, recited, written or suggested.
Can I present a videopoem that I have already presented in previous editions?
No, we believed on new creations, so we prefer that you send us a new videopoem.
Can I send my videopoem in a Youtube link?
It is important that you send your videopoem in a download link (Google Drive, Wetransfer, DropBox…) or attached to your email.
Should I include subtitles in Spanish?
If your videopoem is made in a language other than Spanish, yes, it must include subtitles in Spanish.
How old should the videopoem be?
The videopoem must be made in 2021 at the latest.
How do I register my videopoem?
You have two options: By email or through the FESTHOME platform.
We explain it in detail below in the section REGISTRATION.
How do I make sure I have sent the registration form correctly?
The last step you must take, once all the information has been completed, is to click on the SEND button. You will receive a copy of the form in your email, this will assure you that you have sent it correctly.
How do I make sure that I have correctly registered the videopoem for the contest?
Once you have completed the registration form and sent the videopoem you will receive an email confirming the correct registration.

VIDEOPOEMS REQUIREMENTS
Length
All videopoems must have a maximum duration of 5 minutes, credits included.
Visual and esthetic treatment
Is totally free, being mandatory that words, in the form of poetry are of importance for the relevance of the videopoem.
It is not only sought to attract using images but as well through the synergetic symbiosis of the images and words, may it these be written, read or recited.
Videopoems that do not contain a poem will not be taken into consideration for the contest.
Subtitles
Videopoems in languages other than Spanish must have embedded subtitles in Spanish.. The organization of MALDITO Festival will not be held responsible for possible submitted videopoems with wrong translations or where the translations do not match the original audio.
Format
The videopoem shall be presented in digital format .MP4
Age of the Videopoem
The videopoems that have been submitted to the competition in previous editions or those made before 2021 will not be taken into account.
Rights / Licenses
By submission of the videopoem, the author acknowledges and guarantees that all rights and permission for image, music, and text are owned by himself and allows to screen the videopoem within the frame of the festival.

2 videopoems per participant.

OPTION 1 – REGISTRATION BY E-MAIL

· Fill in the form and send the files through the following registration form FORM AND FILES
You will receive a copy of the form in your mailbox, this will ensure that you have sent it correctly.
· Attach the videopoem to the form in a download link (Google Drive, Dropbox, Wetransfer…) or the videopoem file.
Although it is not essential, we would also like you to attach the following high resolution files to the form: Photograph of the author of the videopoem. Photograph of the author of the poem. Promotional poster. Promotional images, stills…
Minors must accompany their entry with the following authorisation signed by their legal guardian DOWNLOAD AUTHORISATION
To consider a work for the competition it is essential to register it in its entirety: registration form (1 x videopoem) + sending files.
You will receive an email confirming the correct registration.
OPTION 2 – REGISTRATION BY FESTHOME

You will receive a copy of the form in your mailbox, this will ensure that you have sent it correctly.
· Register your videopoem through the FESTHOME platform.
Although it is not essential, we would like you to attach the following files to your FESTHOME file or to the registration form: Photograph of the author of the videopoem. Photograph of the author of the poem. Promotional poster. Promotional images, stills…
· Minors must accompany their registration with an authorisation signed by their legal guardian DOWNLOAD AUTHORIZATION
· To consider a work for the contest, it is essential to register it in its entirety: registration form (1 x videopoem) + registration of the videopoem.
